The last hot day...

...before fall actually kicked in. Thought I would try and get a few more pictures in nice summery clothes as the summer was ending fast! I usually go out to Borden and hang out with my dad once a week with the kids. That way his retirement has some excitement (ha! not that he needs it... but it is good exercise keeping up with a 2 year old while hauling a baby around!) and Ryan can get some work done without us all bugging him. This was one such afternoon in Baba's garden in Borden.

As I was looking at these pictures I realized they could be arranged with Graye slowly coming to meet Tegan and get in on the pictures too! Funny...ish. =D

Beauty Queen

I admit it. I entered Tegan in a cute contest. Which I normally would not consider doing, but it was for a Zellers "babyface" contest and they give a $10,000 RESP and a trip to toronto... I thought what the heck?? We still haven't gotten the big call saying she is the winner, but I know it's coming!! =b Here are a couple of the pictures that I took as possible send in shots.

Fall Harvest

Graye in the field behind our house right before they combined.

The wheat was eye-level and Graye was getting upset that he kept getting poked!

We went to the Threshermen's Festival that they have every year in Borden. Graye got to ride on the horse and didn't want to come down! Every 10 minutes or so we would ask him if he wanted down and every time the answer was a quiet "no" then he would look ahead and wait to keep going. Pretty funny!

He also got quite comfortable on the tractor. Between that and the horse he got his picture taken more times that day by all the grandmas and grandpas than he has all summer!

Summer Fun

We went to the McKeague's cabin for a couple days, just to relax a bit.

Milo and Graye playing on the dock by the "sink water". Not like kitchen sink, but water that had a sludgy bottom that you sank in. Sounds fun, hey? =)

Graye slowly falling asleep in the paddle boat. Lasted all of 5 minutes, then there was no napping after that!

Pink!

A couple pictures of Tegan...

...in her pretty pink dress...

...and making her newest "face": scrunching up her nose and smiling at us with full gums showing! (Still no teeth yet!)

Whitecourt

We took a trip to Alberta to visit some friends in Whitecourt and then hang in Edmonton for a couple days. Joe, Krista, Zachary, Kayla, and New Baby were kind/tolerant =) enough to let us stay with them for a weekend. We had a great time, they cooked us fantastic meals, and the kids did great playing with each other.

Hanging in the heat... Tegan finding her own cool refreshing drink!

We saw an airshow while there too, and although the heat was a bit excessive, Graye really loved all the planes! We did bring a bit of shade with us, but... it was still HOT!

Fantasyland!!

We went to Edmonton to stay at the Fantasyland Hotel for a couple nights, and checked out some of the main attractions. We didn't stay in a theme room, but our room did have a gigantic jacuzzi tub in it! I don't think the kids actually liked it too much, but after chasing Graye around all day, it was the best part for Ryan and I!

Tegan seems pretty pleased with the arrangement!

Graye in the tub... with no water, he liked it best that way. Better to run his cars in!

In the whale in the mall!

Waterslides at West Ed Mall

We took the kidders to the big pool for an afternoon with passes we got from the hotel. Graye took awhile getting into it, but once he went down the waterslide a couple times we couldn't get him off of it! The only thing we heard from him was "Ay-gain?"

Tegan doing her favourite pool activity - napping. She also fell asleep while in the pool we went to in Whitecourt. Don't what it is about being in the water!

Wave Pool

Graye loved jumping up in the waves and watching me get knocked over in the process! Tegan was a bit emotional, nearly crying when the waves hit us then laughing when we sat back up and smiled at her. I don't think she quite knew what was going on. She did like being in the water too, but only when the waves weren't going!

Galaxyland

Last day in Edmonton, Graye was definitely fading fast! He did like all the car and plane rides though, even Tegan got to go on a couple of them!

This plane ride he was let on the first time, but the second time we tried it he was denied! Too little, which was true, he was probably half a foot too short to be on it. At least he got to ride once!
