Summer Graye

Playing with some new birthday toys!

Ryan got my bike and the carriage all going too. Now we just need to find a bike that fits him!

Summer Tegan

Tegan hanging in the sun sitting up all by herself...

...Tegan 1 minute later, after faceplanting in the dirt. I swear she waits until the second you turn away from her to fall over!

Tegan and Milo

Maybe Tegan and Milo will be better friends than Milo and Graye. Tegan is just so much quieter and likes to do things that Milo likes to do... like lay on the floor... I guess that's about it really. Ah, well.

HAPPY 2nd BIRTHDAY GRAYE!

The train cake I made this year.

Milo (the dog)'s birthday present to Graye - a comfy seat.

Aidan, Milo, and Graye hangin'.

Putting the sandbox to good use. Gotta try out all the new trucks!

Wagons and Trains

Kids at the party ALL trying to fit into the wagon... except Milo, he's doing the pulling. Might be a tough job.

Gotta run out to the alley in back to watch the train go by... every time... which is rather often...

The train Graye got from us for his birthday. (Do you see a theme?) All the little pieces got put away shortly after as they were apparently just blocking the view of the train going around. And therefore got chucked onto the floor. But they might make it out again in the next year...ish...

New Hair

I was getting a little bored with my hairstylist, she was a great stylist, just not adventurous enough! So I decided to switch. This one is DEFINITELY not too scared to do anything! I let her do what she wanted with the colour (she did describe it to me first... kind of) and this is what I got! I love it, as does Ryan - always wanted a punk rock girl - but it definitely is crazy fun! My only issue is that it has already started to fade a bit... these were taken about a week ago. Guess it's going to happen though.

Boys.

I don't think you could ever accuse Graye of not being "boyish". This is what I caught him doing while we were packing up to go on our camping trip. Actually I caught him kneeling in the water first, then this started, and it ended with him slipping and falling on his back into the water. Actually I don't even think he wanted to stop then, he was still stomping around in it after that. And by that point, what's the purpose of stopping him? At least he's entertained right?

Cypress Hills Family Reunion

We just came back from a reunion for Ryan's mom's side of the family. It was a lot of fun, although it wore Graye right out by the end of every day. There were 10 kids (I think!) 6 years and under there - so busy! Graye and Tegan were the youngest ones, and Tegan (being the baby) was Little Miss Superstar - no shortage of hands to help out with her! She was happy to give smiles out to everyone too, could have been part of the draw. Here are a few (million) pictures of our trip.

This was our most favourite place to be I think - the POOL! It was fantastic, warmish water, soooo great to hang out in on 30 degree days. I think we went every day we were there, including once right before we hopped in the car to drive home.

Rock Group

The kids got to paint rocks... and pretty much everything else on or around them. It was really fun though! I think Graye was the last one to finish, it was just too much fun being able to smear paint wherever he wanted.

Stuff we did

Maizie and Graye playing trucks in the morning.

Filling up the pools so there was somewhere to cool down on the super hot days.

Found a dirt bathing area... and went to work!

Maizie almost got every inch!

Happy Canada Day! We went to Fort Walsh, which unfortunately wasn't so happy for Graye. Ryan caught this smile, otherwise I didn't see one the whole time there! Although there were lots when we went to the pool after. =)

The Show!

The kids decided to put on a little "performance" for the adults - some singing, some dancing, some... standing around... it was really great! Even Graye did a little number: stomping on a nerf rocket launcher and shooting the rocket into the crowd. The star of the show?

Graye watching the others.

Tegan hanging with Dawn so I could take some pictures.
