Tegan's First Day

Tegan also had her first day of school last week. She'll be in preschool for 2 years, same as Graye. She was a little more hesitant than Graye was, but as soon as she sat down and started talking to the other girls she was fine!

No looking back now!! ;)

Graye's First Day of Kindergarten

Graye had his first day of Kindergarten last week, and so far so good! He was exhausted by the end of the day, but still wanted to go back that evening, haha!

This is what Graye looked like when I told him there was still an hour to wait until the school opened, so we couldn't leave yet:

FINALLY we got there, and found the right door...

...and the right hook...

...and the right spot at the table.

Totally acing this school thing!

Finished the assignment and immediately found the dinosaurs. That kid could find a dinosaur hidden in the middle of a 5 acre field!!

Hopefully the rest of the year goes just as well! I won't post the post-school/daycare picture of both of them laying across me crying their eyes out from exhaustion. Don't want to scare any of you who's kids haven't started yet, haha!

Guess where we are now?? ...yep! The lake.

Some friends of ours just finished building a cabin and invited us out to see it. We were just there one night, but managed to fit in games, beach, quad rides, fireworks and sparklers. The cabin is beautiful, we'll definitely be inviting ourselves back! ;)

Visiting Old Friends

We had a BBQ get together with a bunch of friends that we know from high school and from when both Ryan and I worked at Pacific Cinemas *ages* ago - long before it was torn down and replaced with a hotel! Everyone now has a significant other and many had at least a couple kids hanging around now too! Pretty crazy!

It was great seeing everyone though, and all the kids got along amazingly well.

Feeding the ducks:

Kathy, testing out a group photo site... perfect! ;) (... look, is that a fish?)

Back to the lake!

We spent an extended weekend at the lake, Ryan had to work (9 - 5 jobs ruin everything!) so I took the kids and went with my family. We got there in time to set up camp and check out the lake at sunset. *Just as a side note, slightly crooked photos make me crazy, but I do not have any type of photo editing program on here at the moment... I vow I will get one installed soon though!*

Just hanging out in our camping clothes... waiting for some hot dogs... We actually had a memorial service to attend that weekend as well, for my great aunt, hence the unconventional camping wear. ;)

SQUIRREL!!!

My nephew, Cam's, chic camping style!

Lake day!

Best ice cream in the province...

We had amazing weather pretty much the whole time!

I LOVE Summer

It's my favourite...

July = Graye's Birthday!

Graye turned 5 this summer and we had his first party with school friends in attendance.

We wanted to go to the spray park, but the weather wasn't the best that day. (Even though it was hot out for 10 days before and 10 days after the one day we had planned the party! ARGH!)

There was a monster they had to hide from:

More cute than scary if you ask me though!

Super cute Rhiannon (Tegan's best bud):

I made Graye a dragon cake for this birthday... a slight variation on the dinosaur cakes that we've had for the previous 2 years! Don't worry though (I know you were!), the theme of the rest of the party was still all dinosaurs.

Wings added:

And fire!

Graye only ate the wings (fruit roll-ups) - his cake wasn't touched...

Then came presents! Everyone helped out.

More dinosaurs to play with!

Dinosaurs make Graye very happy....

A few days later we celebrated Graye's "real" birthday. He told us that he was going to get the biggest dinosaur ever for his birthday - so we had to try and comply!

The night before I set out his presents and at 5 am the next morning I heard him out of bed. I called him to go back to bed and he comes to the stairs dragging the big stuffed dinosaur and trying to get it up the stairs with him. No going to bed after that!

Pretty sure it was a hit! It sleeps under the covers beside him every night now.

That night we had all the family that was in the city over to celebrate. For those who don't know, Graye was born 5 weeks early, exactly 3 minutes after midnight - on the day after my Dad's birthday. :) So Graye and Dida celebrate together every year.

Happy Birthday to my most favourite son and Dad!! :D
